Just a simple thinking of you card

Hello & thanks for checking out my simple “thinking of you card”.

For this card I stamped a flower from the Tim Holtz set, Illustrated Garden onto a watercolor paper card base and used a water pen and some distress markers to color it in.

Alcohol Lift Ink Birthday Card

So alcohol lift ink is completely new to my crafting stash.. and I LOVE IT!!!

I added some alcohol ink to an alcohol ink applicator tool and pounced it around onto my yupo

Then I took my glorious bouquet stamp and applied the alcohol lift ink and stamped an area of my dried alcohol ink design. Using a paper towel I dabbed the lift ink off the image and carefully rubbed more of the lift ink off the paper until I had a beautiful ghostly flower image. Since the alcohol ink was transferred onto my stamp, I stamped onto the baseboard photo frame

Using tear tape I attached my paper to the frame. I added a small metal flower to the side, I used green & purple beeswax metal finish to add a some color to the adornment.

I wrapped the frame with some thread and stamped a little sentiment using the tiny text stamp onto a piece of old book page.

I finished it off with some sequins to add a little sparkle.

Adventure Awaits Inspiration

I wanted to send a friend some happy mail so I started working on a card...

I started by applying white gesso to a piece of thick mat-board, followed by a nice layer of crackle paste. Once dried and crackled, I put a few drops of liquid acrylic paint on the background and sprayed it with water to make the color run into the cracked spaces as well as make the color a little more washed out looking. I spread some gel medium onto an area that I wanted to sparkle and used pink and white mica flakes for that. I then placed some gesso onto my craft mat and mixed in some metallic wax (in the color: Indian Pink) to get a pink paint. Using my “new” custom paint color, I painted a small round chipboard frame. I added inka-gold around the edges of the background as well as onto the frame. I glued the frame onto my background with the same gel medium as I used for the mica flakes. To finish it off I glued some gold thread to the back of a quote chip. I wanted this card to be a little more substantial, so I glued my background onto a piece of water color paper that I cut down to A4 size.

I am sure my friend will love the card as much as I enjoyed making it!

Simple Golden Christmas Card

I wanted to make some Christmas cards for a few special people. I wanted the card to be simple but not necessarily look it. So I started thinking about a way to go about making a card like that, and here’s what I came up with... a beautiful, gold embossed Christmas card!

To get this look I used my Christmas greenery stamp from the Tim Holtz Stamptember set. I stamped the image directly on my card base in VersaMark ink in the upper right corner of the card as well as the bottom left corner of the card.

After stamping in both spots I poured gold embossing powder on the entire image, removed the excess and used my heat tool to set the embossing powder.

I then created my sentiment. Using the same Stamptember set. I cut a small rectangle out stamped in VersaMark ink again. Used the same gold embossing powder, removed excess and again used my heat tool to set the powder. I then cut a smaller rectangle out of fun foam and taped it to the back of my sentiment.

I put a few lines of tape on the back of my foam lined sentiment. I then cut a piece of gold thread and created loops that peak out from the back of the sentiment.

And finally attached it to my card base.

Halloween Distress Cards No. 4,5 & 6

I have three little ghoulish nephews I wanted to send a special Halloween wish to. So I thought what better than the Tim Holtz sizzix Ghoulish dies....

I started on the background... by using the blotting technique with Black Soot Distress Oxide and a squirt or two of water on a piece of watercolor paper.

Next I added a small amount of Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink, using the same blotting technique.

I cut out each of the “ghouls” from the Goulish die set.
I blotted the skeleton in Iced Spruce Distress Oxide, the vampire is blotted in Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide and the zombie is blotted in Twisted Citron Distress Oxide.

I cut out “trick or treat” from the Halloween words thinlit set.
I blotted it in Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide.

I blotted a strip of watercolor paper in Black Soot Distress Ink. Using the Ghoulish die set, I cut out several sets of bats.

With the Martha Stewart circle cutter I cut out circles in velum.

Before gluing all my elements together, I wrapped some bronze thread around the bottom of my card layer.

I added a small piece of black paper behind the “trick or treat” and glued everything to the layer.

Using the stamping platform I was able to stamp the sentiment (from the Monsterous stamp set) inside all three cards with ease!

I added some spiderwebs from the Tangled Webs stamp set using London Fog Memento ink.

I absolutely love how these cards turned out! A little bit spooky and a little bit fun... I know my nephews love them!

Distressed Halloween Card

I sat down in my craft room with the intention of making a Halloween card... and I am so happy with my final result I want to keep the card for myself! Don’t you hate it when that happens?

For this card I used Tim Holtz paper dolls, the Etomology stamp set, Halloween collage paper as well as distress inks and stains. The card base is plain heavy weight black card stock and I used watercolor paper for my card layers. I had a dried wildflower in my stash and I used a wax seal as well as my sewing machine to complete this card. Check out my video for a complete step by step of how I created this card.
