Magical Day with WRMK Word Punch Board

I ordered a We R Memory Keepers Word Punch and it was so fun and easy to use!!i just to to open it up as soon as I got it and make a quick birthday card!

I cut out some card stock for a card base and a few layers.

I stamped out the mermaid and the seahorse as well as a few bubbles from the Magical Day stamp set from Stampin Up.

Using my Stampin Blends I colored my stamped images.

I punched out “Happy Birthday” with my punch board.

And glued them down with some Art Glitter Glue.

To finish off my card I added some sequins and some Wink of Stella.

I stamped out a sentiment and added a few sequins to the inside as well.

I got my distress on! Using Tim Holtz Illustrated Garden stamp set and some distress ink, I created this card. And I’ve got to say I love how it turned out.

Check out the video to see just how I made this gem!

Eileen Hulls Wrap Journal

I saw Eileen Hulls Wrap Journal Sizzix die and I had to have it! Especially after seeing all of the inspiration she shared from her design team. Eileen said she found some fabric at Hobby Lobby and I knew I needed to find some for my journal as well!!

I cut a strip of mat board and ran it through my big shot. Then I cut a piece of fabric a little larger then the die cut piece. I used Fabri-Tac glue to attach the fabric to the mat board, I then trimmed the excess fabric. I cut and distressed the edges of some scrap book paper and added it to the inside of the journal. I attached the paper to the book with tear tape.

Then I created four small books for the inside of my wrap journal. I took a plain file folder, cut it to fit inside my journal, like a mini book. Glued the same fabric to the outside of them and a pattern paper to the inside. For the signatures, I cut a sheet of 8.5 x 11 in half, folded them again and sewed them into my new mini books.

In each mini book I randomly stamped small flowers and greenery as well as added some washi tape to the pages.

I threaded elastic into the holes on the wrap journal and inserted my “mini book” signatures.

Using the Tim Holtz Stitched Slots Library Card Holder Thinlit, I cut out two from another file folder, glued them together and distressed it a little with distress ink and glued it to the back inside cover of my journal.

I braided some more elastic and created a closure by making a hole in the middle of the spine. Added some dyed ribbon and a Tim Holtz inspiration token as well and called this book done!

Birthday Card Inspiration

I ordered Tim Holtz Illustrated Garden stamp set and it was screaming for me to make a birthday card. So here’s what I did...

I started with a small piece of water color paper. I dabbed some Old Paper, Gathered Twigs and Rusty Hinge inks onto my craft sheet, sprayed it with water and blotted it up with the water color paper.

I added more ink and more water to the craft sheet, blotted my paper into the inky water and dried it with my heat tool in between blottings.

I continued that until my paper was inked to my liking.

While my mat was inky, I took some Ground Espresso stain and dyed a piece of cheese cloth, again using my heat tool to dry off the cheese cloth when I had the desired color I wanted.

I cleaned up my inks and pulled out my MISTI.
Using the MISTI tool I was able to get a nice dark stamped image onto my piece of water color paper.

Because of the texture on the paper, it took a few rounds of stamping but the MISTI ensured I stamped in the same place every time.

I pulled a few shades of green and purple to color in the color. I dabbed Mowed Lawn, Forest Moss, Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord onto an acrylic block.

I used a water pen to water color my stamped image.

I then ripped the flower image into a smaller piece and distressed the edges with Gathered Twigs and Vintage Photo inks and a mini blending tool.

Using the same technique as a above with the water color paper, I put shades of purple distress oxide inks on my craft sheet and sprayed some water on it to activate the “oxide” part of the ink and dried it to get the background layer for this card.

I took a scrap page of vintage sheet music, tore it into a rectangle shape, distressed the edges with Gathered Twigs and Vintage Photo ink.

I then layered everything together. Starting with my purple layer, I glued the dyed cheese cloth down, added the distressed sheet music, wrapped a piece of twine around the bottom knotting it to one side and added my flower image using some foam tape and lastly added my sentiment “Happy Birthday” with my old label maker punch gun.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my birthday card inspiration!

Alternate July 2018 Paper Pumpkin (Stampin Up) Project Ideas

I felt like this paper pumpkin kit had a lot in it... but I had a little bit of a struggle coming up with an alternate card using the contents of the kit. But I’m pretty happy with this trio!
